Drupalcon London 2011. Watch right!

Between 22 and 26 of August 2011 I will attend Drupalcon London 2011. I'm returning to London after 12 years. This time I'm joining the (already) famous biannual event of a great community of enthusiasts and professionals: The Drupal Community.

Proud to support Drupalcamp Bucharest 2011

We, at Webikon, love opensource and we support the Drupal Romanian Association. We are proud to attend and help Drupalcamp Bucharest 2011, the second major event of the Romanian Drupal Community.

We expect to establish working relationships with enthusiastic and talented people from the Drupal World. We want to explore opportunities for partnerships for consultancy, development and training for Drupal solutions.

See you in Bucharest in May.

Komodo Edit: key based authentication to remote filesystems in Mac OSX Snow Leopard

At Webikon we use Komodo Edit enthusiastically for some time now. It is a great IDE, but it still lacks some features common to other competitiors, like version control integration or remote key based SSH login. One classic example of this shortcome is when developing using an Amazon EC2 instance that only allows private key logins. Fortunately, there are a lot of options when running Komodo Edit on OSX or any other *nix like based system. One solution is to mount locally the remote filesystem and let ssh handle the communication. Here is a short guide on how to do this in Mac OSX Snow Leopard (10.6), assuming that you already setup Amazon EC2 key pairs and you are able to SSH flawlessly from your machine (see here how to set up Amazon EC2 credentials).

What we learned from DrupalCamp Timisoara 2010

DrupalCamp Timisoara 2010 was a suprising event. When we first started talking about it, during the early days of Drupal Romania Association, there was a common worry about how much interest does Drupal raise in Romania. I was initially pretty reserved about the number of people we could gather. At that point we did not had any idea about what Drupal means professionally in Romania.
